Charm Octopus
How the Charm Octopus boosts your other pets — charm slots per star, strength per level, and which abilities it cannot touch.
Overview
The 
Charm Octopus has no buff of its own. Instead, tap and hold it on the HUD, then tap another equipped regular pet to charm it: every one of that pet's abilities is multiplied by 1 + Charm Strength, applied after everything else. Its stars decide how many pets it can charm; its level decides how strong each charm is.

All three charms are worth the same; there is one curve. Evolving into the Sweetheart Octopus keeps the same curve running to level 200.
What charm does not touch
Charm scales magnitudes — a percentage, a multiplier, a damage number. Flat steps, cadences and on/off perks have nothing to multiply, so these abilities ignore it (each pet's page marks charm-responsive abilities with CHARM):
