What Renown is

Renown is the number under your name that the Marquee reads. It is measured in Marquee stars, and it only ever goes up. Each milestone on the Marquee lists the stars it needs; cross that number and the milestone unlocks on the spot.

There is exactly one way to earn stars: the reward bubbles on the ARCADE machine's level bar. Stickers, quests, tournaments, the Plinko board and the Bonus Map all pay out in other currencies — none of them add Renown. If you want the next milestone, play the ARCADE.

The level bar and its bubbles

Every launch on the ARCADE scores candy, and candy fills the level bar. Each level has one reward bubble at 40% of its bar — the moment your candy for that level passes the 40% mark the bubble pops and pays out. You do not need to tap it. Bubbles cycle through the same three rewards in order:

• +1 Marquee star (Renown)
• +1 portal-lock damage per ball
• +1% coin gain on every earned coin

Because the cycle restarts every 3 levels, every 3rd level from level 1 is a star level:

The level card (tap the level number on the machine) shows the three totals side by side: RENOWN STARS, PORTAL LOCK DAMAGE and COIN GAIN. Levels never cap, so the stars keep coming after the Marquee's final milestone — the Renown Maxed trophy needs 237.

The level curve

How much candy a level needs grows in four stretches: levels 1–5 need 760 × level; levels 6–19 climb evenly from 4,193 to 9,300; from 20 to 100 the cost rises gently (10,190 → 91,531); above 100 it steepens sharply, growing with the fourth power of the level (1,464,496 at 200, 57.21M at 500). Every star threshold

Every star count that unlocks something, with the Arcade level that pays that star and the candy it takes to get there from a brand-new account (clear every earlier level, then fill 40% of the star level's bar). 99 thresholds cover all 100 milestones — 4 unlocks two at once.

Where you see it

• The Marquee — the footer's TOTAL RENOWN is your star count; UNLOCKED n/100 counts crossed milestones.
• ARCADE level card — the RENOWN STARS panel, live as you play.
• Your profile — the MARQUEE stat shows how many milestones you have crossed (M followed by the count).
• Hiscores — Renown is the default ranking. Friends also see a timeline post when you cross a milestone.

Tips

• Candy per coin is flat across stakes, so the fastest route to the next star is the highest stake you can afford to hold — see the Pinball Multiplier milestone for the holding rules.
• Candy Boost and Card Candy from the Marquee compound with the level bar: they are the only stats that make Renown itself come faster.
• The bubble is at 40% of the bar, not the end — a star level's milestone unlocks well before you actually finish that level.
• Renown never drops, and a milestone stays unlocked forever once crossed.
